COLIVE’s housing concept is designed to meet the needs of young adults seeking housing for a limited time. Since you will be sharing spaces and facilities in a shared apartment, it is especially important that everyone shows consideration, takes responsibility for their behavior at home, and contributes to a positive atmosphere.
COLIVE is a politically and religiously neutral entity. Our shared apartments are intended to be characterized by openness, respect, and inclusion – a safe and pleasant place free from discrimination. COLIVE welcomes all residents, regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, or sexual orientation. To move in, you must be at least 18 years old.
It is the residents who make COLIVE’s shared apartments a pleasant place to live. By signing a housing agreement for a shared apartment, you also agree to follow the guidelines outlined in this Code of Conduct.
The shared apartment has many common areas, and the comfort of everyone depends largely on how considerate each person is and how they contribute to a good atmosphere. It is especially important that all residents behave appropriately in shared apartments and respect one another.
Quiet Hours
Please avoid disturbing your neighbors, especially between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM when it should be quiet. Disturbing sounds such as loud voices, loud music, or similar should be avoided – both in the shared apartment and throughout the building.
COLIVE values diversity and an inclusive community where everyone feels welcome. All residents and those working in COLIVE’s shared apartments should be treated with respect.
Be kind and friendly to other residents and staff.
Be mindful of the language and imagery you use. Avoid language or images that could be considered offensive or hurtful. COLIVE does not tolerate any form of harassment, bullying, or molestation.
Be considerate of everyone in the shared apartment. Keep your space tidy and leave it as you found it.
Pets
We love pets, but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate them. Therefore, pets are not allowed in private rooms or in the shared apartment.
Smoking and Grilling
COLIVE aims to provide a healthy and smoke-free living environment. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of COLIVE’s housing – including private rooms, shared apartments, and common areas, as well as on balconies and terraces. For safety reasons, grilling with charcoal or gas grills is not allowed on balconies.
Trash and Littering
Littering is not tolerated. Do not throw trash or cigarette butts from balconies or windows. Dispose of household trash and sort recycling at the designated locations. As a resident, you are responsible for disposing of any waste that is not suitable for the building’s trash bins unless COLIVE arranges special pick-up for the waste.
Every resident’s voice has equal value. Participation means that all residents living in a shared apartment have the opportunity to be involved in decisions and take responsibility for their shared living space. Democracy and participation must be practiced equally, regardless of background.
As a resident, you must abide by agreements and maintain good ethics and morals. Activities or involvement in actions that create insecurity, violence, bullying, harassment, racism, drugs, or any other criminal activities in COLIVE’s shared apartments are unacceptable.
To live in COLIVE’s shared apartments, you must respect all residents, regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
It is not allowed to use COLIVE’s infrastructure or Wi-Fi for illegal activities. Keep in mind that downloading copyrighted material without permission is illegal.
COLIVE’s shared apartments should be a positive and safe meeting place for everyone. By being clear about our rules in the Code of Conduct, we create a living environment where all residents should feel welcome and safe.
If you, as a resident, break any rule in the Code of Conduct, you risk being evicted from your rental agreement.
Please contact COLIVE if you or anyone you know feels that these rules are not being followed.
